Film is not bothered too much by cold temperatures, but your camera and batteries may be. If Coming inside from the cold outdoors, let your camera adjust to the change in temperature. The sudden change to warm air will likely cause some condensation to form on the lens, producing less than desirable pictures. Also, the Batteries may not perform as well when cold, so replace marginal batteries if you will be outdoors in cold temperatures when taking your shots.
 

What is red eye? Simply put it is a photograph of the back of the eye (retina) and it is one of the problems of using a compact camera. The method used by most manufactures to combat this is to give a pre-flash which causes the iris in the eye to close, but although this helps it creates its own problems.

First, it runs down batteries, it also causes a delay in the time it actually takes to take the picture, which means you can miss the shot you wanted, sometimes because people have seen the flash go off they think the picture has been taken and may move before it actually has.

TIP try a red eye reducing pen, they are cheap and very effective if used properly.
